Venison Processing

We process boneless venison from the current hunting season only. Venison meat from previous years will not be accepted. Venison is accepted Mid October through Mid March. The silver registration tag is required for all venison that is brought in to Silver Creek Specialty Meats. No meat from the CWD zones (red registration tag) or from out of state is accepted at Silver Creek Specialty Meats unless there are test results presented with the registration tag proving that the deer killed was not infected with CWD. Processing takes approximately 8-12 weeks to complete after the meat has been dropped off at the processing facility.

When bringing in venison please have the meat deboned and put into clear plastic food grade bags. The meat must be cleaned, it can be fresh or frozen when brought in. The meat should be taken to receiving dock one to be weighed, do NOT bring venison meat into the front office. Once the meat is weighed you will receive a slip with the weight on it which you will take into the office located on the east side of the building to place your order.

Due to the size of our equipment all the venison is mixed to create batches large enough to run. The meat is inspected to ensure wholesomeness by our sausage makers prior to using it in products. This means that if you want your own meat back you will need to bring in 200# of venison meat to put into one product otherwise the meat you bring in will be combined with the other venison brought in to create a 200# batch.

You will receive a phone call letting you know your order is ready. Please make sure the phone number you give on your order sheet is correct. If there is a change in phone numbers please contact the office at Silver Creek Specialty Meats and inform them of the change. Once you are called it is very important you get here as soon as possible to pick up your order. All orders are paid for when you pick them up. We accept cash, credit, and checks. We are open for pick ups and drop off Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30 pm

The Jim’s summer sausage is made with pork only where as the regular summer sausages are made with beef and pork.
